Popular F&WRC Routes

See below for some of the routes we might use as a club.  This is, of course, not an exhaustive list of routes, but gives an idea, especially for those not familiar with the areas.  If you choose to take on these routes, please carefully check the routes yourself and keep yourself safe.

Freck 5k

Summer Handicap Route

Rydal Loops

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the club took part in the 'NOT a parkrun' route, which is a 5km loop around Freckleton.

Rydal Loops

Summer Handicap Route

Rydal Loops

We often use loops around Rydal Avenue / Lamaleach Road for intervals, speed or fartlek sessions.  The loop is approximately 600 metres around and there is a shorter, 460 metre loop through the middle.

Summer Handicap Route

Summer Handicap Route

This is the first F&WRC handicap route.  It starts from Marsden's Funeral Home in Warton and finishes at The Lightning Club in Warton.   Because of poor lighting on the route, we cannot follow this in winter.

Winter Handicap Route

In order to keep all members safe on the darker winter nights, this is the winter route for the handicap run. It starts and ends at the Lightning Club, Warton. there is a small loop around Elder close & Westfield Drive, before you run a large loop of Freckleton.

Warton Loops

Warton Loops

This is a club favourite that starts and finishes at the Lightning Club in Warton.  This is a great little route that provides the club with both a roughly 3 mile and roughly 5 mile route. The route shown here is the 5 mile route, but take a short cut between the two flags and that is the 3 mile route.
