To compliment the wide variety of running we do, we have had talks and coaching sessions delivered from senior England Athletics Coaches, elite athletes and inspirational runners over the years.
We offer regular trail & fell runs as part of the club. This is usually at the weekend and at various locations in Lancashire.
Each year, we choose a few runs or races to train specifically for, for which we put together a training programme that is delivered in regular club runs for anyone who would like to participate.
See below for some of the training we do and some of the popular routes we use as a club.
A regular session with the club will include:
- Brief from an EA-qualified coach
- Warm up appropriate to the session
- Main session, consisting of 30-90 minutes of running time, with explanations for each part and options for everyone’s ability
- Cool down & stretching
- Debrief and a chance for feedback to the coach
The Windmill Remembrance 10k is a popular event each year on Remembrance Sunday and the many club members typically run. In 2023, the club delivered an 8 week training programme for those wanting to ramp up to a 10k and for those wanting a PB.
The Freckleton Half Marathon is always an important event in our calendar. As a club, we support the event with marshalling and many of our runners race. We put together a half marathon training programme for everyone to follow in the lead up to the race.
